Qld: Mango needs name
Buyers have snapped up 25,000 trays of a new mango in the past fortnight.
The Queensland Department of Primary Industries has called for suggested names forthe B74 mango, which was selected from row B and tree 74 in a trial near Childers in southeastQueensland.
Primary industries minister HENRY PALASZCZUK says the mango has a better shelf lifeand smaller seed.
It's hoped more than 50,000 B74 trees will bear fruit in Queensland, the Northern Territoryand Western Australia within three years.
