Fed: Nursing home can rebuild confidence through reprieve: ACCV

The Victorian government says Melbourne's beleagured Belvedere nursing home has a chance
to rebuild confidence .. with a last-minute reprieve from being shut down.

The Belvedere was labelled the worst in Australia .. and had its accreditiation cancelled
.. after a federal audit found it'd breached all but two of the 44 aged care standards.

But late last night a tribunal ruled the the 30-bed facility could keep operating ..

if it appointed an approved administrator and reached proper standards.

The Belvedere's appeal against its loss of accreditation could take a year.
