REPUBLICAN SPARKS DEMOCRATIC INFIGHTING.(Capital Region)

A legal battle has erupted between Democrats in Saratoga and Rensselaer counties over the race for the 43rd Senate District seat, held since 1976 by Republican Joseph L. Bruno .

At issue is the permission - known as a Wilson-Pakula - given to attorney Brian Premo , a Republican, by Rensselaer County Democratic Co-Chairman Tom Wade to run against Bruno on the Democratic line, which the Saratoga County Democrats did not sign off on.

Peter Tulin , an attorney and Saratoga County Democratic committeeman, has challenged Premo's Wilson-Pakula in state Supreme Court, saying it wasn't properly issued because no formal meeting of the two parties was ever held and no joint vote took place.
